Karthik has well over a decade of expertise developing cutting-edge medical Instrumentation & software. Previously, as head of software and instrumentation at the microfluidics-based molecular diagnostics company HandyLab, he designed and developed the core hardware and software platform from the ground-up that was built into several diagnostic instruments that automated the entire workflow from sample to results. He has several issued US patents and active patent applications. Karthik holds a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and an MS in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University. Karthik develops the informatics pipelines for NGS data analysis and reporting, and is architecting the automation platform for GenePath Diagnostics’ high-throughput genomics analysis platforms.
